When
Cercle de Lorraine
became Hotel de Merode

Previously home to the Cercle de Lorraine, the new Hotel
de Merode is reinventing what a social club means.
Located on the prestigious Place Poelaert, this private
historical building has been completely restored. Under
a new name and an inclusive vision of society, the
rethought Hotel de Merode reflects a desire to live and
do business in a better world.

The origins of the Hotel de Merode date back to the first
half of the 16th century. But it was in 1971 that it took the
name of Hotel de Merode. And it was in 1863 that
Charles de Merode, then President of the Senate, ceded
to the Belgian State at a ridiculous price most of the
« lovely secular gardens » of this family home. This
allowed the construction of the Palais de Justice at Place
Poelaert.

Under new ownership, the recently transformed Hotel
de Merode is reopening its doors in October 2021.

Our members area

Hotel de Merode will offer multi-functional spaces. Ground floor will welcome the Ciao restaurant, the lounge bar in the Stables and the reading area.
On first floor, the Place Poelart aisle will welcome you in the Merode gala venue. With 5 other rooms newly refurbish in the 18century-mood.
The Rue aux Laines aisle, the more contemporary style of the first floor, offers 3 rooms and a small screening room.
The Otium downstairs will welcome you in a relax, groovy atmosphere. A place for private dinning, themed nights, afterworks, happy hours, jazzy, groovy, rocky, pop, DJ sessions or just to have a funny good time.
